NB!!! This piece is not currently available for purchase as it has been submitted to an arts festival.
This piece was manufactured as a stand-alone project during my Advanced Diploma studies in 2023. The brief asked for a creative approach to the traditional filigree technique used in a variety of historical pieces in which wire shapes are bent and arranged as ornaments either on a closed back or an open back and soldered or fused in place. Inspired by the beautiful geometry of spirographs, I made a frame with equidistant spokes and wrapped fine silver wire around them to form a geometric structure reminiscent of a camera aperture. I then encapsulated the wire work in a solid sterling silver frame and paired it with a 55 cm sterling silver rolo chain to match the round shape of the pendant. The chain is included in this price.
This piece has been submitted for inclusion with the Tshwane University of Technology exhibition at the Clarens Arts Festival taking place from 24 tot 27 April 2026.
